Any Device - Any Time
With our Any Device - Any Time concept and Visiointegrate Vfolio embraces tomorrow with support for all the popular content reading devices in the marketplace. Today's content users are mobile, and expect their content delivery on whatever device they may prefer and at all times and places throughout the day.

Within 2009 alone, more than 20 new devices for content reading have been introduced to the global marketplace, two years ago such devices were unheard of. Vfolio recognises this speedy development and advises all clients not to solely rely on one method of distribution for their content, but select a unified strategy consisting of more channels to ensure broad delivery to the entire target audience.

Our Visiointegrate system allows us to re-process all content delivered regardless of input format, and enable the content for virtually any device in the marketplace.

List includes amongst others

  • Kindle DX
  • iPhone
  • Blackberry
  • Irex Reader
  • Sony e-Reader
  • And many more

In Brief
We enable conversion of your content into our NITF format - the standard established by the International Press Telecommunications Council (see www.iptc.org). After conversion of the content, we are able to re-use the content by selecting the desired output filter needed for the devices our clients wish to support at current time. Devices will most likely come and go, but with Vfolio's 'Any Device - Any Time' concept, you are assured of staying abreast of new developments.

Google Analytics Integration

30/08/2009

Google Analytics Integration is now available for Vfolio solutions.
The advanced, free and easy to use Google Analytics is now available for all Vfolio product group users.

Integrate Google Analytics in Vfolio
Vfolio is proud to announce this recent integration between Google Analytics and the Vfolio system. Google Analytics is the leading, free analytical system for websites and web-based systems. Among others, Google Analytics allows the user to follow the number of people following your publication, their geographic location, and when the publication is read.

Google Analytics is a free website analysis solution, which allows the user to capture and illustrate all traffic on the user's webpage. This solution integrates easily into Vfolio, allowing our clients to fully track all movement on their publications.

How does it work?
Integrating Google Analytics in Vfolio is very simple. The first step is to have a Google Account, which can be created free at http://www.google.com/analytics.

In your Google account, a website profile needs to be added, which for Vfolio users will be (www.theenvironment.co.uk/yourname). This will allow Google to automatically generate a piece of tracking code, which is copied into the Vfolio template and approximately 24 hours after data has been collected and it is possible to utilise the statistics function.

Paper Mill Prices
If you thought 2010 might bring relief from rising paper prices, think again: Industry watchers say reduced demand, several mill closures, along with rising energy and manufacturing costs, have rendered paper markets extremely tight. Blake Hutchison, director for Menomonee Falls, says most, if not all coated mills have announced 5% to 7% price increases effective January. 1. "So right out of the gate, prices are going to be higher," he says. The price increases for coated paper are largely driven by the significant reduction in capacity. "Keep in mind that even with the recent price increases, paper mills are still losing money." Paper availability will be an issue all year. "We expect LWC prices to rise 14% -17% year-over-year in 2011 and the risk is that they might rise even more than this."

Google Analytics is a free website analysis solution, which allows the user to capture and illustrate all traffic on the user's webpage. This solution integrates easily into Vfolio, allowing our clients to fully track all movement on their publications.

Men Digital Readers VS Woman Digital Readers

09/10/2009

New York
Independent media agency Target Cast: tcm has released a consumer trend report that reveals differences in how men and women engage with traditional media. The study also points to generational differences in the ways digital media is perceived and consumed.

The study, based on a survey last month of 895 adults age 18-64, found that men are generally more willing than women to adapt their habits to incorporate digital and online platforms as replacements for traditional media. For example, it's more common for men to say that the Internet has replaced their need to read printed newspapers and magazines. Men are also more willing to pay for an online subscription that allows them to watch TV programs on the Internet with limited advertising.
